I am writing to you because I need help. This week Interstate Batteries made a decision to drop me and NHRA drag racing from their Motorsports program in 2009. I have loved driving for them for the past 4 years and feel I have proudly represented their company but NHRA numbers cannot compete with NASCAR. What I want them to know is what else has happen this year because of the NHRA program. And that is where I think you can help me. If you attended a race through the Welcome Home troops free ticket program, or the Day at the races free ticket program please drop a note to Interstate Batteries and tell them how much it meant to you. This year we distributed 21,000 free tickets, handed out thousands of books and giveaways and hosted over 14,800 troops and families at our events, none of which was paid for by Interstate Batteries. If all they know about is races and points they will never see the value of what we are doing.
This year losing my sponsorship means more to me than not being able to race it also means not being able to bring the troops to the track. We have tried to give our best and now I need to prove that we are worth saving. If you would like to see me back in the seat of the interstate dragster take a moment and tell them. Any positive comment would be a great help.
Thanks,
Tina Stull
